Muscles of the Neck
Rhomboideus capitis
(as mentioned in the muscles of the back) Originates from the occipital area of the cranium. Inserts on the scapula at the vertebral border. This muscle draws the scapula foreward.
Acromiodeltoid
Originates from the scapula. Inserts on the proximal end of the humerus. This muscle raises the humerus.
Masseter Muscle
Originates from the cheek bone (zygomatic arch). Inserts on the lateral surface of the mandible. This muscle brings jaws together.
