The Digestive System
To examine the digestive system, you'll need to open up the abdominal cavity. To do so, use your scissors to make a cut from just below the sternum to the groin, cutting around the umbilical cord (make sure to cut through the layers of muscle and connective tissue and through the mesentery of the abdominal cavity, but not deep enough to cut the organs).
Then cut perpendicularly from this line, just under the pectoralis major, and again between the legs.
Then cut up along and through the sternum towards the pig's neck to expose the thoracic cavity.
You may need to crack the ribs on either side in order to open the cavity up for viewing.
