The salivary glands can be found by removing the skin from the buccal area.
The glands are found near the masseter muscle. They look chunkier and less uniform than muscle tissue.

- Parotid - largest of the salivary glands, found anterior and interior to the external ear
- Submandibular - located beneath the floor of the mouth
- Sublingual - located under the tongue, anterior to the submandibular gland
